How Should EV Owners Help Pay For Roads

Since EVs don’t require gasoline, they don’t pay taxes on gasoline purchases.  The gasoline taxes provide a substantial portion of funding for road building and maintenance.  Some states are responding by proposing fees for EV owners.  They are extending those fees for hybrid owners.  This is troubling since hybrids get all of their energy from the gasoline they consume.  There could be some justification in the case of pluggable hybrids.  See the articleHERE
